Advising

Students may schedule advising appointments with the Assistant Director on TerpEngage.

 TerpEngage

AREC Majors

All AREC majors must meet with the Assistant Director for mandatory advisement before registering each semester. (When registration opens, check Testudo to find your registration date). The goals of advising are as follows:

  • Review your academic plan to ensure that you are on track for graduation
  • Get cleared for registration so that you can add classes to your program for the upcoming semester
  • Discuss your academic and career goals

You must bring a completed graduation plan to your advising appointment. You can schedule an appointment using the online advising scheduler on TerpEngage.

All current UMD students who wish to change their major to AREC must attend an AGNR Change of Major workshop in addition to meeting with the Assistant Director at AREC with a completed graduation plan.

Global Poverty Minors

All students who wish to declare a minor in Global Poverty must first meet with their major advisor with a completed minor interest form. After your major advisor signs the form, bring it to the Assistant Director at AREC for processing. Please visit the Global Poverty minor page for more information.
