Visiting Scholars

Visiting Scholars

Creating Connections through Research and Teaching

International researchers, professors and special guests from around the world come to visit the University of Maryland throughout the year. Visiting scholars may be graduate students or faculty conducting research, guest instructors and lecturers, specialists, dignitaries, and many others whose areas of research intersect with those of the department.

Who is eligible?

Visiting scholars come to conduct research in their field under the guidance of a faculty advisor from this department. The scholars should have a research project proposal prepared or well underway.  Visiting scholars must have appropriate institutional sponsorship/financial support from their sponsoring organization.

How to apply?

If you have not yet contacted a faculty member from this department to discuss setting up a Visiting Scholar Agreement with the University of Maryland, please contact the department director, Ms. Dany Burns, for more information.
