Janna Chapman has been chosen as a 2022-23 Philip Merrill Presidential Scholar
Janna Chapman, a rising senior in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and FIRE Sustainability Analytics alum, has been chosen as a 2022-23 Philip Merrill Presidential Scholar. The program recognizes students’ academic excellence and the important role that teachers and faculty have as mentors. In addition to recognizing the seniors, the Philip Merrill Presidential Scholars program honors the K-12 teachers and University of Maryland faculty selected by the students themselves. Dr. Thanicha Ruangmas, Faculty Leader of FIRE Sustainability Analytics, has been named as the faculty mentor who has had the greatest impact on Janna’s academic achievement.
